One of the clubs at LCC that is just getting organized for the 2020-21 school year is the Black Student Union.

“BSU is a registered student organization,” said Robin Moore, one of the three club advisers. “The mission of this student organization is to build student unity, celebrate Black history and promote academic excellence.”

The club focuses on helping students develop professional and leadership skill.

“The Black Student Union is devoted to enhancing professional development and leadership abilities through educational, cultural and social outreach,” Moore said.

According to Moore, the club got off to a slow start at the beginning of the semester, but has been able to meet via WebEx.

At the moment the club is preparing activities for next semester.

“The newly elected officers are in the process of planning for spring semester,” Moore said.

Any LCC student who wants to join the club can go to the Student Life website or email the advisers: Robin Moore at caldwer@lcc.edu, Jonathan Rosewood at rosewooj@lcc.edu or Willie Davis at davisw2@lcc.edu.
