Halloween is upon us and COVID-19 can’t stop it. Many places are still open to have some spooky fun. Here is a guide to some of the best spooky events and attractions in the area:

Bestmaze Corn Maze: 3803 Noble Road, Williamston. Open until Nov. 1. The maze is open on Fridays from 6 to 10 p.m., Saturdays 1 to 10 p.m. and Sundays 1 to 8 p.m. Tickets cost $7 for the maze. The Trail of Terrors is open on Friday and Saturday nights till 10:30 p.m. Tickets cost $20. For more information go to http://bestmaze.com/

Awaken Haunted Attraction: 4760 Churchill Road, Leslie. Open Oct. 23-24 and Oct. 29-31 at 7 p.m. This is a very serious haunt and not recommended for children under 10 years old. Tickets can be purchased at https://awakenhaunt.com/tickets/

Shawhaven Farm: 1826 Rolfe Road, Mason. The Corn Maze and Pumpkin patch are open Wednesday through Friday from 1 to 6 p.m., Saturdays from noon to 10 p.m. and Sundays 1 to 7 p.m. Cost is $8 per person. The Flashlight Maze Run happens after dark and costs $6 per person. Every Friday and Saturday in October attractions like the Wagons of Fear wagon ride (cost $18) and Samara’s Retirement Home for the Dead (cost $18) occur. Carnival of the Creatives: Drive Thru Halloween Extravaganza: North Grand Parking Ramp, 219 N Grand Ave., Lansing. This event takes place Saturday, Oct. 24 from 7 to 10 p.m. Cost is $20 per vehicle. This is a drive-thru trick-or-treat event with candy stations throughout the ramp. Candy will be placed into bags hung from the passenger-side mirror. Also throughout the drive there will be performers and artist such as musicians, dancers, body painters, visual artists, belly dancers, hula hoopers and fire spinners. Halloween Trick or Treat Trail: Riverside Park, 415 S. Bridge St., DeWitt. On Saturday, Oct. 24 from 2 to 4 p.m. there will be a trick-or-treating event. There will also be a children’s costume contest at 3 p.m. and a pet costume contest at 3:15 p.m. Free admission. Halloween at the Fair: Ingham County Fairgrounds, 700 E. Ash St. Mason. On Saturday, Oct. 24 from noon to 5 p.m. there will be trick-or-treating at the fairgrounds. Free admission. For more information go to https://www.lansing.org/event/halloween-at-the-fair/34186/

Fall Zoo-tacular: Potter Park Zoo, 1301 S. Pennsylvania Ave., Lansing. On Oct. 24 and 25 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., dress up in a costume and take a socially distanced walk through the zoo.
