Copy and Paste

(Text only--click here to see the instructions with images.)

Once you have a web page open in your browser (either Netscape or Internet Explorer) you can copy and paste text by doing the following:

  • highlight the text on the page
  • click on Edit
  • click on Copy
  • open your word processor
  • open a new page if the word processor didn't do so automatically
  • click on Edit
  • click on Paste

You should then have whatever you highlighted before you.

Note: you can also do the same with the right button on your mouse after highlighting the text. In fact, you would do well to explore the right click on your mouse to see what kinds of shortcuts are available in whichever programs you're working with. Obviously this only works if you're using a PC and not a MAC.
