Pentecostal annual Labor Day Block Party set for Sept. 6
The Pentecostals of East Lansing will host the annual Labor Day Block Party on Monday, Sept. 7, with many activities for all ages.
The event will take place at 16262 Chandler Road, just south of Eagle Eye Golf Course.
Church attendee Amber Glomb said activities will include inflatable bounce houses, a petting zoo and face painting for the kids. There will also be live music, a silent auction and a classic car show.
“Last year the church had 50 cars, but this year they’re hoping for 80,” Glomb said.
The car show registration starts at 10 a.m., and the other activities begin at 11 a.m. The fun runs until 4 p.m.
Glomb said that the event is great for the city of East Lansing and the church.
“(The block party) just kind of shows that we’re out there,” Glomb said. “A lot of people don’t really realize that the building is a church.”
The event sparks interest in the people of East Lansing every year.
“We’ve had people and families come check us out after the block party,” Glomb said. “Come out to the block party. It’s a lot of fun and you won’t be disappointed.”
