LCC men advance in tournament

The LCC men’s basketball team defeated Kellogg Community College 100-71 Tuesday, March 5 in the first round of the MCCAA District Tournament.

Sophomore George Goodwin led the way in a breakout game with 35 points for LCC. Teammmate Tyrin Wade followed with 17 points of his own.

Christian Coville scored 19 points for the Bruins.

LCC will play again on Friday, March 8 at the Delta College campus in the second round of the tournament.

The women were scheduled to play March 5, but due to reshuffling of the matchups, the women received a first-round bye.

The game was rescheduled for Thursday, March 7 at 5:30 p.m. The Stars will play the winner of the Muskegon/Lake Michigan contest on the campus of Delta College.
