Passing of Bob Budd

It saddens me to inform you of Bob Budd’s recent passing. Bob taught in our English department for over thirty years and retired just two years ago. He passed on July 4th, 2012 and was honored in a small, private ceremony by his family.

Many of us will fondly remember Bob’s love for cartoons, puns, photography, artwork, and culinary delights. But his first love was helping students. He had a particular talent for mentoring challenging students and helping them succeed in college and in life. In fact, a former student was with Bob when he passed and e-mailed me to let me know he died in peace.

I am honored to say that Bob was my friend for over twenty years. I am certain many across campus have fond memories of him.
